RMJ evidence to the Immigration and Asylum Bill Public Bill Committee
Posted: 17 September 2026

RMJ has submitted written evidence to the Public Bill Committee scrutinising the Immigration and Asylum Bill.
Drawing on our experience supporting refugees and people seeking asylum, our submission sets out concerns about the Bill's proposals on asylum support, immigration appeals, Article 8 and routes to settlement.
We highlight the potential impact of these proposals on access to justice, the rights of people navigating the immigration and asylum system, and the government itself through devoting huge resources required to implement significant changes to the system.
Our evidence has now been published by the House of Commons Public Bill Committee and forms part of the parliamentary scrutiny of the Bill.
